Life | The Sunday Edit #005...

So the snow has finally decided to disappear and normality has pretty much returned. Everything is so much easier to do now without having to factor in extra time or extra layers for snow. However, it still has been pretty cold in the office - I even ended up taking in a hot water bottle to work just to see off some of the cold. I've also been topping myself up with lemsips as there is something lurking inside...but it hasn't come out yet.

Gym-wise, this week I managed to hit a PB on the Squat rack as well as use the bar for the first time in a long time during Squat track in Body Pump (lower back issues and fast reps is not the one). Admittedly, I haven't done as much gym sessions as I would have liked to do this week but the ones I did do I thoroughly enjoyed and they were very much up my street (strength-based).

This week, I have continued with Oat milk - I am really enjoying it in my hot drinks and I think I've managed to get the perfect balance. It is definitely not the cheapest dairy-alternative option but it is certainly one that makes tea taste drinkable. In addition, I have also been trying to up my protein intake (40% split) and get back to grips with My Fitness Pal. Problem is I have more calories available now and I'm struggling to eat them all (usually around 200 less of what I should be eating). I'm running low on protein ideas so I think I need to hit Pinterest to get some new idea. Perhaps once I've posted this...

On Saturday, I was back down again to Murrayfield. Unfortunately, it was not a win but there was definitely some odd decisions made by the referee. Also some stupid mistakes made by our team - forward passing? Seriously...

Finally, this week I picked up a couple of new books. Firstly, I bought the Mountain Cafe Cookbook which I have had my eye on for a while. The recipes looks absolutely delicious and I'm looking forward to delving in and making some recipes. In addition, I also picked up Anna's (from The Anna Edit) book 'An Edited life'. Initially I was swithering over whether to buy it or not right now (I have a lot of books to read). However, once I had a quick read in the shop, I decided that it was coming home with me that day. I can't wait to start reading it.
