Monthly Favourites | August...

August flew by in an instant and ended with my birthday celebrations. As much as I love the warmth, I am definitely looking forward to the cooler months: mainly candles, hot chocolate and staying in listening to the rain batter on the window panes while creating plenty of blog content.

So what did I love in August?

Little Fires everywhere - Celeste Ng:

This book is amazing and was incredibly hard to put down. Needless to say it was finished fairly quickly (under a week I think). I've never read anything by this author before but I'm definitely going to be checking out some of her other books seeing as I was gripped from start to finish.

'At home with' - Anna Newton & Lily Pebbles:

I have been massive fans of both Anna and Lily for a number of years - probably even before they started working with Gleam. So no surprise I also love their podcast. This month I have been a bit slack listening to podcasts in general, so I had a few of these episodes to binge-listen too. Absolutely loved them all but the episode with Charly Cox is one that has really stood out (her book will hopefully be winging its way to me soon once I place an Amazon order).

Everything I know about love - Dolly Alderton:

I read this in 2 days (almost 1). If that isn't a sign of a good book, then I don't know what is. Some of this resonated with me and stories of  her stuni days were taking me back to my own uni days.

H&M Pink Fitness Top:

If I'm not in Reebok, Adidas etc, then it's a 90% chance the item is from H&M. I absolutely love their sportswear basic range and when I spotted this little burnout number, I had to buy it. I have pretty much been wearing it since I got it (washed in between obvs).

White Hot Chocolate:

As soon as the darker evenings start to hit, I am all about the hot chocolate (no cream for me). Bizarrely, I currently prefer White Hot Chocolate over normal Hot Chocolate. I think Whittards do make the best White Hot Chocolate (If anyone wants me to test others, I'll quite happily oblige) but there are a couple of supermarket ones that do make the grade too.

Benefit 'No Pressure' Cream Eyeshadow:

In a bid to try and use some of my make-up, I've been switching up some of my daily make-up products. This eyeshadow forms part of the 'Easiest Nudes ever' eyeshadow palette kit and it is very similar to MAC's Groundwork Paint Pot. I have been using this most days in conjunction with my ultimate eyeshadow, MAC Bare Study Paint Pot.

Oliver Bonas Power Up Mug:

I can't resist Oliver Bonas (who can?) and when I spotted this mug in the sale, I picked it up. I definitely didn't need another mug but who can resist cute?

Strong Roots Kale & Quinoa Burgers:

I am not Vegan or Vegetarian but I do eat a number of non-meat meals in a week. I found these in Tesco and they are incredible and great with stir-fried veggies.
