Life | 2018 Goals...

A new year means it's time to set new goals right?

Here are my goals for 2018:

001) Be more in the moment
Social media and the access that we now have to smartphones, tablets etc means we are often focusing on the technology and not what is happening around us. This year I want to appreciate what is around me and to reconnect with things I used to love: books, drawing and generally switching off in other ways.

002) Drive
I have previously passed my driving test but for various reasons (no illegal reasons I may add), I haven't been able to drive. So in 2018, I want to revisit driving whether that may be driving my Dad's car or even with someone else I know. I just want to drive!

003) Become more eco-friendly
Watching the latest series of Blue Planet has really made me reconsider how much impact I am having on the environment. In 2017, I started to switch all of my cleaning products to eco-friendly products (apart from a bleach alternative...anyone?) so I want to continue in 2018 by starting to reduce my plastic consumption. Little steps and all that.

004) Declutter
Mentioned this in my previous post but I really need to declutter my flat as I probably do not use 90% of  the items that I own. Wherever possible I plan to donate to charity or recycle (dependent on what it is).

005) Spend more time at home
In 2017, my parents relocated about an hour way from me as opposed to the 3.5 hours they were previously. With them now being only a hop, skip and jump away, I want to be able to spend more time with them as I have been living a distance away from them for around 12 years.

006) Work on bringing fresh content to Teacups & Buttondrops
When I started blogging in 2010, selfies were pretty much balancing a camera on a stack of books and hope for the best. Nowadays, the standard of blogging is so high that you need to know your audience and in turn that means coming up with fresh content.

007) Fitness
2017 was the year that I lost a little bit of my fitness mojo and learnt to listen to my body a little more. In 2018, I would like to mix everything up a little more and include more gym sessions as opposed to all group exercise sessions.

008) Save, save, save
I never used to think that I spent my money on unneccesary items, however a quick look at my bank statement would suggest that Sainsburys, Morrisons and Tesco is where most of my money goes. It's the usual little top-ups here and there that do it. In 2018, I want to stop all of these unneccesary purchases and instead save money towards something more worthwhile.
