Monthly Favourites | September...

September is pretty much over and done with and it was definitely a quick one. This month saw a focus on Health and Fitness with a mixture of recipes and fitness essentials. It also saw my blog turn the grand age of 6 (It's a Granny in blog years) and my first Obstacle Course Race.

Here is what I have been loving:

Beast Race:

This was my 1st Obstacle Race and I absolutely loved it! 10k with 20+ obstacles thrown in along the way - what could be more fun?

Nakd Bars:

This month I have been loving Nakd bars particular the Bakewell Tart flavour. I've found that these  bars are great to throw in my bag if I don't have any of my homemade energy balls to hand.

Homemade Energy Balls:

Energy balls have been my favourite snack to make this month. Quick, healthy and with very few ingredients involved, they are something that everyone should have a go at making,


This month I have been doing a 30-day Yoga Challenge and I think that I am slowly turning into a Yogi as I have absolutely been loving it!

I found this BBC documentary a fascinating watch as it goes behind-the-scenes at British Vogue. It was interesting to see the work that goes into creating an issue.

Eats | Carrot Cake Cookies...


Carrot Cakes have to be one of the tastiest creations...but definitely not the healthiest! Stumbling through google, I came across this recipe for Carrot Cake Cookies which have all the taste, but none of the unhealthy stuff!

Fitness | What I ate in a day...

Generally I try to eat healthily 90% of the time. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't work, I don't punish myself and instead I start fresh the next day.

On this particular Sunday, I had started early with all the boring adult jobs that need doing. The jobs continued until the afternoon which is why there is brunch and not a separate breakfast and lunch. It's probably also not one of my healthiest days ever and some adjustments are required....but it's all a learning process, right?

Anyway, here is what I ate:



3 Sweet Chilli Sausages, Turkey bacon in a bagel and a cup of tea. Not what I had planned to eat but my eggs went out of date :(.


Snack 1:

Making Carrot Cake cookies, I prepared one too many carrots. Simple solution? Eat it.


Snack 2: 

Sunbites Crackers


Snack 3: 

Carrot Cake Cookies. I think I had about 3 of these as I was shooting photos for their post. They taste pretty good but there is more on that coming up later this week.



A bowl of Turkey Chilli with some cheese and (not pictured) Wholemeal bread. One of my favourite recipes to make.


Snack 3:

Smarties - my favourite type of chocolate. I actually wish they would do away with the cardboard tube ends and bring back the plastic tops.



Chocolate milk and more Carrot Cake cookies (They are seriously tasty!)

So officially today I have been blogging for 6 years....6 years! Never once did I think that I would still be be blogging 6 years later and still loving every single moment.

Life | This Week #050...

001) Well this week the Yoga challenge didn't end up going too well as I injured my calve on Thursday during Sh'bam. So Thursday and Friday were pretty much written off. However, I was back on plan by Saturday with Body Balance.

002) Speaking of which, on Saturday I attended my Gym's open day and the nutter I am decided to do 4 classes: Pump, Sh'bam, Balance & Combat. Surprisingly I felt pretty good after 4 classes.

003) This week it became official that 2016 has been my busiest posting year surpassing 2012 which previously held the record. So yeah, I'm a little chuffed...

004) Last weekend, I had a lovely day exploring Aberdeen and seeing some of the painted doors and the commissioned graffiti in Union Terrace Gardens. Some of it is absolutely stunning!

Currently Coveting #008 | The Yoga Edition...

Yoga has definitely been my new favourite type of exercise in 2016. Even though I have been doing Les Mills Body Balance for around 2 years, I have never really fully appreciated it until now. And let's face it as far as fashionable exercise gear goes, yoga definitely has the best selection around.

Life | This Week #049...


001) This week, for some reason, I have been enjoying watching some of the old 90's TV shows. My guilty pleasure is most definitely Keeping Up Appearances.

002) On Wednesday, I headed along to Brewdog for the launch of 'Say it ain't sew Aberdeen' who offer free sewing classes to anyone. This week we did a Cross-Stitch which was really good fun and I'll definitely be back again in the future.

003) Writing this I am 11 days into my 30 day Yoga Challenge and so far it I have really been enjoying it. Admittedly, I have been coming home absolutely shattered, but I switch it on and by the end I am pretty content.

004) On Tuesday, I decided to ditch my Body Pump class as it was far too hot to be in the studio. Instead I came home and did some recipe testing for the blog. I made some Peanut Butter energy balls and also some Cherry Bakewell energy balls which went down very well. I'll have a recipe up later this week for one of them.

005) Episode 10 of the current season of Pretty Little Liars...erm what? I now have to wait for the rest...

006) Strawberry Cheesecake and Mint Oreos. Need I say more?

Life | This Week #048...


001) First things first, this week was my birthday week and I turned the grand old age of 29. Help! It's been a really good week and I've been utterly spoiled by everyone, particularly in the gin department.

002) Speaking of birthdays, one of my friends hand-stitched my previous logo with the teacup as a present. It's absolutely beautiful.

003) On Sunday I was still at home, so we headed down to the Kelpies with the dog as it was a lovely day. It was absolutely packed with lots of tourists, families, couples etc which was lovely to see. Alfie had a whale of the time meeting all the other dogs and having a splash in the water. The only thing I regret is the fact I hadn't anticipated on the weather being so nice when I was at home so I was a little toasty.

004) This week I started the 30 day yoga challenge - 3 days in and it is going well. I'll have some new yoga plans at the end of this post so have a little read further down.

005) Apparently Beast Race is only 3 weeks away...I'm actually terrified.
