Parallel worlds...

I've not done one of these posts in a long while. Here are some recent adventures of mine taken by my lovely phone:

My 'bread' for my Highland Stew - really they had stuck a roll in the panini maker

Some Paperchase purchases:

Whippy ice-cream:

'Fancy a kiss?' Don't worry he's in his playpen, not his tank.

How can this puppy face not make you go awwww!

After many years, I now like mince pies. I may even try some xmas pudding this year...

Some Photoshop editing:

Nyan Cat:

Burning candles :)

My lovely neighbour bought me 6 bottles of Rose wine for looking after the cats:

Acquired ' The Big Bang Theory' dvds:

Made some Whoopies:

Crumpets with cheese:

Red Cup - Gingerbread latte if you're offering to buy ;)

I've also been rediscovering bands I've forgotten about. Today's choice is Elliot Minor. I know I have seen them play somewhere but I can't remember where or who I was with. That's the problem when you've been to so many gigs, you forget where you were.

Here is a youtube link to Elliot Minor:

The title to this post is actually the name of an 'Elliot Minor' song which sums me up at the moment - the real world vs blogging.

A bit of this and that...

Missed me? To be honest I've not really had much to blog about recently. I hate posting for the sake of posting. I like to spend time putting 100% effort into posts. Also I don't see how people a) find the time to post daily and b)have enough interesting things to say which are non-repetitive.Maybe I'm just alone in these thoughts? Maybe I'm just not interesting?

Anyway enough of that, here is a small selection things:

1) I finally managed to curl my hair using my babyliss curling wand. It's easy and took me approximately 15 mins to do my whole head.
2)I have become addicted to cheese on crumpets.
3)I have 6 bottles of Rose wine which were given to me by my neighbour for looking after the cats. Anyone fancy coming round for a party :p?
4) I'm slowly becoming addicted to 'I'm a celeb'. I'm not a fan of reality shows, not even X-Factor, but considering Dougie from McFly is in there, I feel the need to watch it :).

Hello Dougie!

5) Recently I have developed a strange urge to go the gym at random times in the morning - 6.30am anyone? To be honest, I like going as it gets it out of the way and at that time it is still quite quiet. The only thing I don't enjoy is walking down in the dark - I keep thinking a bad person will attack me....

That's enough for now! Any other jungle lovers out there?

Monthly Favourites #4

I really enjoy doing these posts. It's scary to think that the next time I do one will be December...eek!! It's getting freakishly close to Xmas and tonight my Mum sent me her Xmas list....

The majority of this month's 'Monthly Favourites' are all fairly new products for me. There is one which I have re-purchased and re-purchased over the last couple of years, but the rest are fairly new.

The first product is MACs 'Prep and Prime Skin base'. This was sent as a sample when I ordered something from the website. Normally I wouldn't have considered using a primer of any sort but I decided to give it a go. Overall I really like it. A little goes a long way with this tube and it's so easy to pop some on before applying make-up.At the moment I have another primer to use after this is done, but I will definitely consider purchasing a full-size bottle in the near future.

The second product is Good things 'Bright eyes eye cream'. Let's be brutally honest here, my eyes are a mess - too many late nights combined with early starts do not do me any good and needless to say, my eyes show everything. I've been applying this cream both in the morning and also at night. I may be slightly optimistic but I think that it is doing something for my eyes. They certainly feel a lot better. This tube is only 15ml, which isn't huge, but you only require a small dot to do both eyes. Another thing that I love about this product is that it is all natural ingredients - no parabens, nothing - just superfruit extracts of raspberry and lychee.

The third product is Witch concealer stick in natural. Now I don't know about you,but I always feel guilty applying make-up over a blemish of some form. I just think that I'm making it much worse. With this concealer, I no longer have to feel guilty. It contains Witch Hazel extract which helps to heal the skin. Since I started using it,I have noticed a difference where I have been applying it. In particular certain problem areas (hello chin!) seem to be much clearer.

The fourth product is the much hyped 'Pillow Talk' lipstick from Topshop. I still really like this lipstick and have been wearing a lot. The colour is a baby pink which once applied is absolutely gorgeous. I won't go into too much detail here but you can read my post on Topshop make-up here.

The final product is my much loved Benefit 'Boiing'. I have been using this product religiously for the last 3 years or so. This is my absolute favourite concealer in the world. I can't remember how many I have re-purchased over the period of time but I would say it's at least 4+. When it says it's industrial strength, it really means industrial strength. The coverage is amazing and despite only being 3g, there is plenty of use in this small tub.

What do you think about this months favourites?
