Under the Microscope: MAC Velvet Teddy...

Buying a MAC lipstick is something of a rarity for me nowadays. Not because I don't have access to MAC (there is a store in my local shopping centre) but rather as I am trying to be much more selective with my make-up choices. Saying that, every once in a while, I will go on a mini-spree particularly if there are a lot of lovely new releases.

I came across the shade 'Velvet Teddy' on many occasions in Youtube videos. However, when it came to actually getting my hands on one, I had a huge problem thanks to the Kylie Jenner effect. One day I popped in randomly to MAC (killing time before an event I think) and I managed to get my hands on a tube.

'Velvet Teddy' is a matte finish lipstick. It is described as a deep tone beige which I do agree with. However, the colour in the tube is slightly darker than when it is applied. It's not a major issue but generally I like the tube to reflect the true colour.

Application-wise, the lipstick applies well and is long-lasting. The matte finish can be a little drying, but by prepping your lips beforehand, the final effect is worthwhile and the pay off is wonderful.

Velvet Teddy retails for £15.50 and is available from MAC Cosmetics either online or instore
