Life: A weekend in Edinburgh...

Edinburgh is one of those cities that it doesn't matter what the weather is like, it always looks pretty. Last weekend was no exception and so I headed down from Aberdeen for a weekend of girlie/photography fun with my friend.

We were pretty lucky with the weather - honestly I could not believe how lovely it was. I spent TWO DAYS without a jacket which is generally normally classed as a miracle in Scotland.

On Friday we spent most of the day travelling but we headed into the city for dinner. My friend had been recommended to try a place called Whiski on the Royal Mile.

Whiski is the cutest pub I have seen in a long while - the decor is amazing. It serves high-end pub grub and obviously has a large Whisky selection. I opted for the Steak & Ale Pie and I also had the Sticky Toffee Pudding for dessert. Both dishes were amazing and I would highly recommend a visit there.

On Saturday, we had a gin tour booked with The Edinburgh Gin Distillery but as we had a little time to kill beforehand, we headed to the National Museum of Scotland.

The National Museum of Scotland is located a stone throw away from Greyfriars Bobby so after having a nosey around, we headed across the road for the obligatory Greyfriars Bobby photos.

Obligatory photos taken, we then headed down towards The Edinburgh Gin Distilery.

The Edinburgh Gin Distillery is located at the end of Princes Street and is quite well hidden. We actually couldn't find it....and then we realised that we were standing right in front of it. However, you will have to wait for a later post to see what we got up to there...

Sunday was our last day in Edinburgh so we headed along to Edinburgh Zoo and then along to IKEA afterwards where we met my parents.

Edinburgh Zoo not only has lots of animals, but also has beautiful views of the city nice you get past the steepness of the zoo.
