North Hop Aberdeen is the ultimate destination for those who love Beer, Gin, Food and anything else in between. Held annually, the festival provides the perfect environment to relax with friends and try out new things.

As the festival was on all weekend, I decided to head along to the Sunday session with a group of my friends to see the wonders which awaited us. And await they did....

Myself and all my friends are massive fans of Gin, so naturally our first stop was a Gin tasting session run by Caithness-based Rock Rose. This session was really interesting as I learnt a lot about how they make their gin as well as a few other things too. The gin itself tasted really nice and definitely one that I would have again.

After the gin-tasting session, we headed back to the main area for some food and to try some of the brands on offer.

A Mango beer I had later on

My first stop was Thistly Cross for one of their ciders. If I'm not drinking Gin, then my next drink of choice is Cider. Based on a recommendation from Sarah, I opted to try their Strawberry one. And oh...it was good! The only unrealistic downside is that it tastes like juice which means that I could probably drink a lot of them within a very short space of time.

Drinks purchased, it was time for food.

Food-wise there were ample options available. Myself and one of my friends headed along to Ayrshire-based Aye Love Real Food for some of their Scotch Eggs which I had heard so much about, We opted for their Black Pudding version which tasted so good. Afterwards, we headed along to The Crema Caravan for a Creme Brulee.

Teacups_and_Buttondrops_NorthhopWhat I enjoyed most about North Hop was the passion. All the vendors were truly passionate about their product and were keen to share their knowledge with you. In addition, the atmosphere was brilliant: from having hay bales to sit on and live music performances, it was all there.

North Hop, you were a blast! I'm looking forward to next year already!

*I was invited to head along by the North Hop team. As usual all views are my own.
