Witch Skincare...

As I have got much older, my skin seems to have got much worse in regards to breakouts etc. Due to this, I will usually include some sort of anti-blemish treatment in my day-to-day routine to help keep them down to a minimum.

Witch Skincare is my go-to brand for this. They have a wide range of products in their range which includes everything from facial washes to concealers. Each product contains Witch Hazel which reduces any excess oil on your skin as well as acting as the perfect cleanser and toner.

I have repurchased this I don't know how many times. This is a product which I use every single day (apart from on no make-up days!) as part of my daily make-up routine. Personally I don't like putting concealer on blemishes but I do with this one as it treats the blemish at the same time.

This is something that I have been using every night before bed. It's a simple gel stick to sweep over the blemish. Sadly this one is almost out and it will be retiring to my product empties box shortly.

This is the replacement I have bought instead of the above. Pretty much the same product but in a gel formula. So far I have been really enjoying this one.

Have you tried anything from Witch? If so, what is your favourite product?

The lux list...

Let's face it, once all the monthly bills are paid there is never enough money left to splash out on luxury items. As a result, I find myself dreaming about luxury items on a daily basis.

Here is what I am currently lusting after:

I have always wanted a polaroid camera to have a bit of spontaneous fun with. I love the simplicity of it and lets be honest, I was a bit sad when they stopped making them. However, Fuji have come out with this beauty which I'm sure will help fill my need for instant photos.

Ok...ok so this is an item I have been looking at for fooorever (I think 2008 to be precise as it was the same time I saw Wicked in London). When I saw this in Selfridges, it was pretty much love at first sight. To be perfectly honest, if I had thought about it and saved up money, I probably would own one by now.

I have been wanting to venture into the world of Mac for ages. Ideally I wanted an iMac or a Macbook Pro, but when I was browsing the Apple store, I came across this. After speaking to staff members, it appears that this is just as powerful as an iMac. Win!

This is an item that I fell in love with after a facial at Pure Spa Aberdeen. It is a gorgeous lavender-based mask which helps to clear up any breakouts/excess oil.

Do I really need to explain my love for anything with Teacups?Combine that with some Cath Kidston and I am most definitely there...

What are you currently dreaming of?

The love for all living creatures is the most noble attribute of man...

While some of you are celebrating today as Valentine's Day, I am also celebrating today in a different way. You see today is Darwin's birthday. Darwin is my Chinese hamster who is ultimately the cheekiest hammy around and he has turned 4!!

Darwin made his blog debut back in 2010 (cringeworthy posts back then) only a few posts into what has become a glorious adventure in the blogging world. He has since become very friendly and knows what he wants (food particularly!). He is a very sweet little boy who soon wins over the affection of everyone he meets.

Happy Birthday little one!

See my post on Chinese Hamsters for more info on their care etc

PS: Guess the quote.

Ruby Slippers...

With Valentine's Day only a small stone throw away (Friday!), I thought I would do a little valentine-type inspired nail art. It is a very, very simple design which can be adjusted for all year round.

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette...

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Neutral eyeshadow palettes are somehow becoming a little bit of a problem for me. I get pulled in by the earthy, brown shades that are oh-so-wearable and perfect for everyday wear. So naturally I need a large collection of them as you know I need a different combination every single day...

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette

Last year Urban Decay launched their Naked Basics palette. This palette is a collection of 6 neutral matte eyeshadows. Each shade is designed to complement each other which means that there are potentially hundreds of combinations to play with. My particular favourite combination is Naked 2 across the lid with Faint across the crease and Venus for the browbone.

Urban Decay Naked Basics Palette
L-R: Venus, Foxy, Wos, Naked 2, Faint, Crave

Due to this palette's small size, it makes the perfect travelling companion. It is great also as the combinations are endless so essentially,if travelling, you wouldn't have to pack any additional eyeshadows. The colours themselves are great and they last a fair amount of time. In addition, each colour is very buildable as well which makes for even more combinations.

Urban Decay Naked Basics palette retails for £22.00 and is available from Debenhams

Interior Inspo: the bathroom edition...

My bathroom is perhaps the most horrible bathroom you will ever feast your eyes on. I'm not joking when I say the walls are bright blue (almost cobalt) and the paint used is not bathroom paint. My walls are even the same colour as what the fireplace was in my living room  (that my friends is a story for another day).It is so bad that I genuinely feel embarrassed every time a guest has to go the bathroom.

As I am a pinterest addict (find me here), I have been pinning a lot of potential ideas for my bathroom that I will be ripping out later this year (hooray!)

Here are a few ideas I have pinned:

Bathroom Inspiration, Pinterest, Ameyjaney
Generally, I want to keep it light and airy as it is not that big a room. I also would like to incorporate a bit of a vintage twist to tie in with the rest of my flat. I will be ripping out the bath (takes up too much space) and instead including a large walk-in shower.

Currrent everyday make-up...

Urban Decay Naked basics palette, Urban Decay Naked BB Cream,MAC paint pot Bare study, MAC Fix+, Revlon Nearly Naked Powder

Sticking to the same make-up routine everyday makes Amey a very dull girl. I like to switch my make-up around from time-to-time and rotate products.
