Today is delightfully rainy. I cannot believe I walked to work yesterday in the sunshine and now it's like this. Come on weather! I want to wear pretty things and not be in boots. Anyway weather aside, the instagram photos are a mixed bunch from a couple of weeks ago. I've kind of been out of the instagram loop recently due to other things and also the fact i've not been doing anything remotely interesting. This weekend I will be going up north to spend a couple of days with my parents at their holiday home so hopefully I will have some instagrams to show you :).

Who stole the creativity?

You know when a thought just won't leave your head until you do something about it? I have that issue. After a conversation on blogging the other night, I was left wondering if there really is any originality left in blogging.

I read a large amount of blogs. Some rather large, some rather small and it doesn't matter to me how big or small they are. To me its all about the content. I like blogs which are individual, which show personality and  read like the person is sitting beside me. However, recently I've been feeling that I've been seeing the same things in both content and design. I feel like if something works on one blog, others do it then a domino effect happens until it has been overdone. I see this quite a lot in post content. I wouldn't say that I'm totally an angel. No way. I like to post instagram posts as well as Glossy Box posts like the next person.

I suppose what I'm trying to say is that we are all creative individuals. Blogging is a creative activity. There is a reason for each and everyone of us as to why we started blogging. There is also a reason why we continue to post day by day. I just don't understand why this creativity is being locked up. I want to be able to share those moments when you first dabbled in baking, when you wore totally mismatched socks to an important meeting or when you went on a mini adventure. I want to feel like I know you. Doing what others do will only get you so far, but to go even further you need to be true to yourself. You should feel free to post what you want, as often as you want and how you want to. There are no rules in blogging. No-one is going to reprimand you for not posting as often as you did or for posting something that you truly believe in. At the end of the day,it is your blog and the only person making the rules is you.

This is in no way aimed at anyone in particular. It is only my thoughts. Leave a comment below and let me know how you feel about it. If you disagree, tell me why (I won't mind!). I will try to reply to them all :).

Glossybox June: First Impressions

So returning home from work on Tuesday night, I found my Glossybox. 'Found' is the correct term as Hermes had stuck it behind my wheelie bin in the pouring rain. It was soaked. Cheers for that.

So after getting over the fact that it was damaged, I set down to open my Glossy box and here is what was in it:

GlossyBox Pro Beauty Brush:
A perfect handbag sized brush. It's made of natural goat hair and to be honest is pretty scratchy. It's a nice addition, but I'm not sure that I would pay the £15 RRP, maybe £7 max.

Yves Rocher France mini mascara:
This mascara has the most amazing brush. I've already used it already and I felt that it made my lashes fuller and much longer.

BM Beauty summer warmth bronzer:
I'm not a fan of bronzers (weirdo, I know) and I already have this one from a blogger event I went to a while back. In general, this product is not really for me and so will probably remain unused. However, I am a fan of BM Beauty products, so it was nice to see the brand included.

Agent Provocateur Eau Provocateur:
There are actually three different vials in this box. The scents are all fairly nice and are wearable. I would advise not testing them on your hand before you go to sleep as you will be sniffing perfume all night.

Vichy Dermablend Ultra-Corrective foundation:
I'm not sure of this one. I've got 6 samples in 6 different shades whereas only one will be suitable for me. It's a foundation which claims to cover everything. If it works then great, if not then I'm not too bothered.

Overall the box was OK. There was another option I would've preferred (HD Brows tweezers) but I don't think it was the worst of the bunch.I just wish Glossybox would actually make all the boxes the same value. It would save much of the negativity that I have seen posted elsewhere about them.

In regards to the Hermes issue, I have contacted Glossybox about it and heard nothing yet.I also just attempted to contact Hermes, which surprise surprise, they say I have to contact the person who sent the parcel in the first place ie GlossyBox. Which basically means Hermes are taking no responsibility for the bad service they provide. I tried different options on the website as well and the only way I could contact them was to enquire about a new business venture. Smells fishy to me.

What do you think of this month's GlossyBox? Have you ever had dealings with Hermes before?

Red lips and stripes

Excuse my face and the fact my right hand is doing something bizarre

Top - Internacionale
Jeggings - Internacionale
Necklace - Primark
Bracelet - Gift

So this is what I wore yesterday for mooching around the house and also nipping to Sainsburys. I've had this top for absolutely ages and I dug it out from the bottom of my wardrobe. The jeggings are a fairly recent buy and when you look at them closer, they have a slight acid wash to them (difficult to see in this picture).

Home haul/presents from America

Well hello there! It seems like I've gone from one blogging extreme to the other. Unfortunately, real life has got in the way and it could be like that for a while. It all depends on the unknown. So just bear with me for now.

So last week I was at home for a few days to see my family but also to do a couple of experiences (more on those later!) and I went shopping. I went to Glasgow with my mum on Saturday and then had a nosy around my local town on Tuesday. I had one of those No 7 vouchers in my purse so I thought it was a bit rude not to spend it.  I also received my presents from America :)

So here is some of the items*:

*MAC items were presents - Woodwinked, Shy Girl, Creme Cup.

Sleek Blush - Rose Gold (Been looking everywhere for this - snapped up the last one in Glasgow)
Essie - Mint Candy Apple
Models Own - Ibiza mix (again been looking everywhere for this - also the last one)
17 - Glisten
No 7 - Cheeky Chops

I also bought Collections Shimmer shades. I've not even opened it and this happened the day I bought it:

Bad times.I'm guessing I'll be purchasing a new one with my Boots points.

Tallia Storm

So when I was at home at the weekend, I popped over to see Elton John perform in my local stadium. It was a brilliant show, but what particularly amazed me was the standard of the two support acts. In particular, Tallia Storm. Tallia is only 13 years old and is extremely talented. A mixture of RnB and Jazz, Tallia's voice will simply blow you away as it did me. In my opinion, this is a girl who has the potential to achieve the same fame as perhaps Adele or Sir Elton John himself. She is very talented and will go very far. Did I mention she's Scottish?

So without further ado, I urge you to have a listen and be blown away:

I, for one, am a fan and I hope you are too.

This week has been a freaking out kind of week. The countdown is officially on until I'm unemployed :(. Truth is - I'm petrified. I've also been at home the last couple of days which has been lovely. I'm here until Wednesday with some exciting things to do before I go back - namely Elton John tonight and Falconry tomorrow. I've always wanted to do falconry so I'm really looking forward to it. Elton John is bizarrely coming to my parents hometown so I'm going with them as...well you would if a legend was coming. I wonder if he will be wearing his pink sparkly jacket?

Oh well, I should probably get organised as I need to go and walk the dogs with my mum before my dad cooks me a fry-up for brunch :).

Dilemma...

I have a slight dilemma. I'm torn between two bags. In theory I would like both but for practical reasons I think that only one is possible. I just don't think I could justify buying two new bags at the same time.

Option one:

This bag is from Zara. It has been everywhere over the blogosphere recently. I'm a fan of the messenger style bags which can easily be thrown over myself. I almost bought this twice then decided to wait until payday. Come payday, bag is nowhere to be seen in store.

Option two:

This bag is also from Zara although I have seen a much cheaper copy elsewhere. I like the bucket style of this bag and the large size would be perfectly suited to my large amount of junk.

I'm totally torn - what do you think?

Another Costa/ran out of bowls (I only have 2!)/nails

Well this week has been fairly productive.Beside the standard food pictures, I have been pro-actively job hunting, buying too much make-up, spending more time than usual in Costa and finding alternatives to using bowls as I had run out. I also picked up more work hours and got back into going to the gym. In addition to that I also had a fire drama where one of the flats below mine went on fire. Cue 3 fire engines (no hotties as far as I could see) and lots of nosy neighbours and there you have my Thursday night drama. I still have no idea what went on fire and I didn't even know that anyone was living there until the guy turned up while we were stood outside and tried to run into the building - idiot!

So.....how has your week been?

Internacionale - coming to a living room near you...

As many of you know, I feature Internacionale quite a lot on here. Mainly because I do work there, but also because in the last year or so they have started to stock products which I really love.I'm very much a girly girl at heart so anything that is remotely pretty usually makes its way into my life, much to the disappointment of my bank balance (and the sound of disapproving parents) .

So what's my point? Well on Friday, they launched their new website which has online shopping. It was the only high street fashion retailer, that I could think of, that didn't have online shopping until now.It makes perfect sense for them to do this as they not only are reasonable prices  (way below the likes of Topshop prices [don't get me started on that rant - I could go on for hours!]) but they are able to reach customers in remote places (Hello Orkney & Shetland).

The website itself is very easy to navigate and it's easy to find what you want. I must admit it is a bit weird seeing the stock on the website and not irl. I was messing around and adding random things to my basket (as you do) but I only had a problem when I tried to add any socks. I couldn't get them to go in. It could be that I possibly own way too many socks already and have no need for any more socks in my life or it could simply be a bug. More than likely, it's a bug (although I do like the sock idea!). Everything else went in without a hitch.

I checked their delivery prices and it's not too bad - £3.95 for standard delivery which is pretty average and they also ship to 100 countries. Even the delivery prices to USA are only around £8. However, I noticed while reading the delivery information that along with the usual blah about Highlands and Islands taking longer, they singled out Aberdeen and Inverness - how random! I've never known a delivery to take longer because I stay in Aberdeen. It's normally because the postie has left a little red card for me. Oh well. I also checked their payments and I was surprised to see that along with the usual suspects, they also take paypal. What was that?Paypal. They take paypal. This technically means that I can eBay and use the money from that to buy shiny, new things. Win.

Overall, I think the website is pretty good. I won't be using at the moment as I do have a shop nearby. However, I did spot a few things that I hadn't seen before like the Tartan leggings which is when I would probably order online. I have no idea why I am attracted to the tartan leggings - it could be my Scottish roots or it could be that it reminds me of when I was around 13-17 years old and was dressing according to my music tastes ie S.O.A.D, Green Day, Blink 182. I think I will be purchasing these leggings as well as some of the AW12 stock (when it appears) that I have seen on the interwebz from the press day. I always have a soft spot for any grunge/rock trends (Hello AW12!!).

Before I go and try to rescue my phone from the mirage of crap on this sofa (that is if it is here - I have actually lost it for once :(), I just want to add that if you sign up with your email on the site, you will get 20% off your next order :).

So the question remains: Will you be shopping at Internacionale from the comfort of your own home? Also, what will you be buying?

You can find internacionale here: www.internacionale.com

Disclaimer: I wrote this post on my own accord. Therefore all opinions are mine and I was no way influenced by anyone to write this. It's also really sad writing a disclaimer on my own post too.

Payday haul...

Today is payday. So what better way to spend part of my day off than shopping...uh-oh!

I didn't meant to come away with this much. I initially went into town to get my payslip, pick up a paper so I can job hunt and to buy the 'blogger bag' from Zara (which they didn't have...boo :(). As you can see, I did more than that.

Superdrug have 3 for 2 on all cosmetics so that was dangerous to start with. Here I picked up: Look Beauty Blushes in Flirt and Pinch, Look Beauty nail varnishes in Corsage and Flares, Barry M lipstick in 212 and Maybelline popstick in Pink Sugar. In Boots, I popped in for a look at the Caudalie range but couldn't see what I wanted. I noticed they had 3 for 2 on Soap and Glory cosmetics so I picked up Lid stuff in neutral palette, Arch de Triumph brow crayon and Love at first blush. I also picked up a 17 miracle matte pressed powder. The jewellery is a spiked bracelet from Topshop for £3.50 which I thought would be perfect for a/w12 having seen a lot of the press day coverage for various stores. I also popped to Internacionale and picked up these two rings (which aren't clear - I will get some more detail for them)

What have you been buying this payday?
