Review: ELF Nail Varnish in Innocent

As a fan of Elf make-up in general,  I was fairly keen to try out their nail varnish range. On my previous order, I popped in some colours into my basket, one of these being the shade Innocent.

Excuse my granny hands..

Application of the nail varnish was easy, although it did need about three coats to build up the colour to a stage in which I was satisfied with it. Innocent is a pale pink, hence why I needed a few coats. It is the perfect shade to complement an outfit as it's not far off normal nail colour. It also would be useful for those 'I'm not allowed to wear nail varnish in work/my boss would kill me if I have this on' moments.

This nail varnish has really good staying power. I applied this Saturday for the 40th birthday which I went to, and as I'm writing this today (Tuesday), there are still no signs of chips or any damage. Overall,  a product which I would highly recommend.

You can order Elf products here . They are great value and range from £1.50 for the basic range. I'm a particular fan of the studio blushes - I want them all!!

Please note: this is not a sponsored post and this review is strictly my opinion.

One Bourbon, one scotch...

Dress - New Look concession
Cardi - H&M
Ring - Internacionale

Good evening :). This is the outfit which I wore last night to my ex-boss' 40th birthday. After a playsuit disaster, which involved one shop phoning another and then reserving a top instead of a playsuit... I was obsessively hunting for something to wear and then I found this dress :). I love anything that is floral and the zip detailing is cute. Since the weather in Scotland, has been a bit rubbish, I was wearing tights with it as well. Footwear wise - simple black primark pumps.

The night itself was really fun and I'm glad that I went. Initially, I was in two minds as it was a wee bit out of the city centre. However, I think that drinking two bottles of wine was probably not a good idea...I had no hangover today due to my obsessive water drinking skills :).

In other news, I'm away to London with my friend on Friday until Monday for a long weekend (and also Glee :)) I just adore London - the size, the smell and the bustle of people. I try to go at least once a year and see a musical.

Little Alfie is doing really well. According to my mum, he has got tall and can see over the baby gate. He has found his voice and demands to come through to the rest of the house. I can't wait to see him on Thursday evening, even if it is just a brief visit.

Friday Five..

Image from weheartit

Early finishes:
This week I've been finishing work at 2pm so its been really nice coming home and having the rest of the day free.

Not my tiffin sadly - forgot to take a pic!

Tiffin:
I made Tiffin for the first time this week. It's ok, if a bit  squidgy. If I can get it to set properly, I will feature it in a Sunday Spotlight :)

Baked Potatoes:
I've got the baked potato bug. Since I discovered that Baguette Express do baked potatoes, I've been eating them for lunch when I'm at work :)

Seeing my hambugs:
Since I've was away last week, my friend kindly looked after my hamsters. Oh, how I missed the daily musings and shenanigans of Miss Daisy (Darwin is a complete angel :))

Harry Potter:
I've been re-reading Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows this week. I've forgotten how much I love reading HP.

This week has been pretty busy. On Saturday, I went out for some drinks with my old manager and some work girlies. I probably stayed out longer than I should have done. On Tuesday, I went for a blood test...ick. The next couple of days have been filled with work and yesterday was filled with work and a job interview. Oh and yesterday, I also made an accidental phone call to a friend who i've not spoken to for a while....all I heard was hello? hello? I thought it would be rude  not speak to her :).

So pretty busy recently..

Lazy Monday..

A sneak peek of what I should have been doing...

Today was meant to be a productive day, however it has turned into a day of lots of green tea and some good dvds with my mum. Sometimes, you just have to have a lazy day.

Take a walk with me....

One of the things that I love to do when I'm at home is to walk the dog in the countryside around me. So armed with Mum, some wellies and some random singing, we took Barney out for his walk.

Before we had even set off, we encountered a small problem:

Alfie decided that he wanted to come along as well. Unfortunately, Alfie has not had his 2nd Jab yet so he can't go out for walks yet.

I found a blackbird's egg shell:

Look at the horses in the next picture:

I love this next picture. Originally I took it upside down for fun, hence the expression on my mum's face, but decided to turn it around the right way:

A tired boy:

I hope you enjoyed the little jaunt around the Scottish countryside.Sometimes the nicest walks are the ones that are just outside your back door, don't you think?

I've been watching Popstar to Operastar tonight. McFly's performance was mind-blowing, did anyone else see it?

Slugs and snails and puppy dog tails....

Good Afternoon :). I've only just sat down with a cup of tea as the little monkey, Alfie, has been entertaining me. He is simply into EVERYTHING - he's been 'weeding' the garden, attacking my ankles (even though I've had things on my feet), playing with some toys, following Barney around (as well as jumping in Dad's veg patch) and he's finally just gone down for an afternoon snooze. When people say puppies are hard work, they definitely aren't kidding!!

I got home Thursday night and apart from spending time with Alfie, I've managed to not do much else. We had a mini BBQ last night, as the weather was stunning and then myself and my mum watched 'Tangled'. 'Tangled' is a great Disney film, and in my opinion, better than 'The Princess and the Frog'. Don't get me wrong, I do like 'The Princess and the Frog' but I felt it was lacking in 'Classic Disney' whereas 'Tangled' has more aspects of the classic Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast.

Today,I've not really got much else planned apart from watching 'The Kings Speech' (another great film) with my parents , although I think I may do some of my Photography stuff. I'm also going to start looking into other things for Teacups and Buttondrops, as it seems to have disappeared into the ether a little bit recently...
